There is a chance, although a small chance, that Matt Lindland will lose to Spencer Pratt’s homeboy this weekend, so let’s take a little trip down memory lane. Before coming to MMA, Lindland competed extensively in Greco-Roman wrestling. He won an silver medal at the 2000 Olympics. However, he went through quite an ordeal to earn a spot on the Olympic team.

In the finals of the 2000 Olympic trials, Lindland lost to Keith Sieracki. Lindland claimed Sieracki scored with an illegal leg trip and took his complaints to the courts. After several months of litigation, the wrestlers were forced to rematch. Lindland won and went on to the Olympics. This is how he got the name “The Law.”

Here is the match between Lindland and Sieracki. Not only is there some good quality wrestling, but you also get to see Lindland throw illegal headbutts and try to Mike-Tyson Sieracki’s ear.
