PRO MMA (promma.info) has learned through multiple sources that “WEC 43: Cerrone vs. Henderson” originally scheduled to take place Sept. 2 in Youngstown, Ohio has been rescheduled for Oct. 10. WEC officials have recently confirmed the change.

According to reports, an undisclosed injury to Ben Henderson who was scheduled to fight Donald Cerrone in the main event is the reason the show is being moved to October. Henderson’s agent Jason Genet told mmaweekly.com that “(Henderson) had a slight physical issue that he had to deal with and the WEC and Cerrone were gracious enough to give us a little more time to make sure he’s 100 percent ready.” Genet would not discuss the specifics about the injury.

The WEC also issued a press release saying “An injury to main event fighter Ben Henderson forced the postponement of the event. The entire card has been rescheduled for Sat., Oct. 10, at a venue to be announced at a later date”.

WEC 43 was originally scheduled for the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, Ohio. Refunds for fans holding tickets to the Sept. 2 event are available at the point of purchase.

According to the WEC the event will still be shown on the Versus network.
