“Punk Payback” Starring Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Bas Rutten to air on Fuel TV

LOS ANGELES, CA (Oct. 31, 2011) – FUEL TV (www.fuel.tv) announces the premiere of “Punk Payback” with Bas Rutten this Wednesday, November 2nd at 9:30pm ET / PT. “Punk Payback” stars the ever-charismatic Bas Rutten, former UFC Heavyweight Champion and three-time King of Pancrase World Champion, teaching FUEL TV viewers how to defend themselves in real life dangerous situations. The series is produced by Brentwood Communications International, Inc. (BCII).

This Pancrase event took place on October 26, in Differ Ariake Arena, Tokyo, Japan.  The fight results are as follows:

  • Kenji Arai fought Tashiro Akai to a Draw
  • Takuya Wada fought Masahiro Toryu to a Draw
  • Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Yuichi Ikari via KO in Rd. 1
  • Takafumi Ito defeated Takaichi Hirayama via Unanimous Decision
  • Takuya Eizumi defeated Takayuki Hirayasu via TKO in Rd. 2
  • Wataru Takahashi fought Hiroshi Tomita to a Draw

Pancrase: Shining Tour 08 – Oct. 26 in Tokyo

Pancrase: Shining Tour will take place October 26 in Differ Ariake, a sports arena in Tokyo.

The main event consists of a featherweight King of Pancrase fight between the Brazilian, Marlon Sandro, who is undefeated and “J-Taro” Masaya Takita.

The semi-finals of a welterweight tournament is also on this card and the winners will meet in December to decide who will face the interim champion, Takuya Wada, for the title.

Ken Shamrock: Fighters Should Take Notes

When you mention the name Ken Shamrock it is typical for a lot of thoughts to flood your mind all at once.  It is possible one might think of Ken’s two fights in the very first UFC event way back in 1993, or his stint in professional wrestling.  Or you might recall 1994 when he fought twelve times in one year.  It’s possible to conjure up images of the electricity he and Tito Ortiz brought in their first encounter at UFC 40.  However, if you are a fan that is new to the MMA scene, all you probably know is that Ken Shamrock hasn’t won a fight in a very long time.
