Before Kris Moutinho tries to improve to 2-0 at the expense of New York’s Michael Karam at CES MMA 40 on November 23 at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, R.I., the 24-year-old hot prospect sat down with Pro MMA Now.

Do you know much about your opponent?

His name is Michael Karam and he’s from New York. He had a good amateur record. He’s 0-1 as a pro, but he fought a tough kid out of Canada. It seems like he’s a tough dude, so we’re going to go out there and bang.

How excited are you for this fight?

After my last fight, I wasn’t too banged up. I wanted to get back in there as soon as possible. CES answered my prayers. I’m good to go.

Do you work outside of MMA?

I work in a paint factory. It’s nothing glamorous. I’m in the factory until I can get my MMA career going so I can quit this (expletive) job. Sorry for swearing.

How close are you to making this your career?

Right now, it’s still pretty distant. In the next couple fights, I’m hoping to be on the CES main cards on AXS TV Fights, you know? I’m still on this undercard. I want big-name fights on that main card on AXS TV, like against Kody Nordby and Kin Moy..

Is there any way Michael Karam is going to keep you on the undercard and in the paint factory?

No. He’s not. There’s no way. Every day I come out here, I’m just daydreaming about training. Anyone who stands in my way is getting smashed.
