UFC officials have announced a new co-main event for the upcoming UFC 178 PPV event that’s slated for September 27th in Las Vegas. Top 10 lightweights Donald Cerrone and Bobby Green have verbally agreed to scrap and it should be a good one.

Green was originally scheduled to take on Jorge Masvidal, but now Masvidal will take on James Krause on the same event.

Cerrone (24-6, 1NC) is coming off a second round KO win over Jim Miller in his last outing last month. Cerrone has fought an incredible four times in the past eight months or so, winning all four fights via either KO/TKO or submission while winning some type of performance bonus in all four bouts.

Green (23-5) is coming off his biggest win to date with a split decision win over Josh Thomson in his last outing last month as well.  Green has rattled off four consecutive wins since coming over to the UFC during the Strikeforce/UFC buyout.

The UFC 178 event will be headlined by the UFC flyweight title fight between champion Demetrious Johnson and challenger Chris Cariaso.
