Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre was recently a guest on TSN’s “Off The Record” with Michael Landsberg and discussed his reasons for leaving the UFC, his relationship with Dana White and his thoughts on performance enhancing drugs in MMA. Asked if he’d talked to Dana since he’d stepped away from the sport and since there had been some public tension, GSP said:
“I talked to Lorenzo. Lorenzo’s the boss … Dana, you have to understand, I’m not afraid. Obviously, I’m not afraid. I’m not afraid either, but I’m not angry at Dana. Because Dana is the promoter, he said stuff, I don’t take personal the stuff he said. Because Dana is a business guy, he’s a promoter, and it’s his role as a businessman. He wants to make a rematch because it’s going to attract a lot of people. That’s his role. He doesn’t care if you like it, or love it, or hate it. He wants you to tune in. That’s the main role of Dana White.”
