With no major MMA events taking place this weekend in the U.S., fight fans can tune in to boxing and watch as the undefeated 36-year-old Floyd “Money” Mayweather (43-0) puts his WBC welterweight title on the line against 30-year-old WBC interim welterweight champ Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (18-1) Saturday night, May 4, on Showtime Pay-Per-View. The vacant Ring welterweight title is also on the line.
At Wednesday’s press conference in Las Vegas there was a lot of heat between Guerrero’s father/trainer and Mayweather’s father/trainer. Guerrero’s father, Ruben, called Mayweather a “woman beater” saying he must have learned that from his dad, and that they are going to beat the “woman beater” down (the rant from Ruben Guerrero starts at the 22:40 mark).
