Josh Koscheck vs. Robbie Lawler

Robbie Lawler made the most of his return to the UFC, fighting off repeated takedowns before taking out Josh Koscheck with a flurry of big punches at 3:57 of the first round.

Josh Koscheck came out putting pressure on Lawler, wasting little time taking the heavy-handed striker on the canvas. Lawler stayed active on his back, working back to his feet, but Koscheck stayed relentless, putting Lawler on the cage and then right back on the mat as the round wore on. Lawler again found his footing, then delivered a staggering knee up the middle that caused Koscheck to turtle up still looking for a takedown. Lawler then went to his power, stunning, and then finishing Koscheck with a flurry of punches, causing referee Herb Dean to step in and stop the action.

The victory moves Robbie Lawler to 20-9 overall, while giving him his fifth victory under the UFC banner. The loss for Josh Koscheck marks his second consecutive defeat, dropping him to 17-7 (15-7 UFC).
