UFC Heavyweight LavarJohnson

The UFC 157 event that’s slated for February 23rd has added two more fights according to UFC officials.

A heavyweight bout between Lavar Johnson and Brendan Schaub, plus a lightweight scrap between TUF Live winner Michael Chiesa and Anton Kuivanen.

UFC 157 will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, and will be headlined by the first ever women’s fight in the UFC. Ronda Rousey will defend her UFC bantamweight title against Liz Carmouche.

Both of these fights were originally slated for the UFC on FOX 5 event in Seattle, but Johnson withdrew due to injury and Chiesa withdrew due to sickness.

Johnson (17-6) is coming off a first round submission loss to Stefan Struve at UFC 146. Johnson had won his first two UFC fights via TKO/KO prior to the loss. Schaub (8-3) is coming off back-to-back TKO losses with the last loss taking place at UFC 145 against Ben Rothwell.

Chiesa (8-0) hasn’t fought since defeating Al Iaquinta at the TUF Live Finale to win his UFC contract. He’ll be taking on Kuivanen (17-5) who is coming off a split decision win over Mitch Clarke at UFC 149. Kuivanen is currently (1-1) in the UFC.
