UFC Heavyweight LavarJohnson

UFC President Dana White tweeted that UFC heavyweight Lavar Johnson will not be fighting on the UFC on FOX 5 event due to a pulled groin muscle.

Johnson was set to take on TUF 10 finalist Brendan Schaub in a bout that was scheduled to air on FX prior to the main card airing on the FOX channel.

It’s not clear if a replacement will be found for Schaub on such short notice, but he will likely be scrapped from the event unless someone agrees to fight him on extremely short notice.

The UFC on FOX 5 event will be headlined by the UFC lightweight title fight between Ben Henderson and Nate Diaz. The co-main event will feature former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua taking on rising contender Alexander Gustafsson. The event will take place on December 8th at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington.
