UFC officials have confirmed that Todd Duffee will return to the UFC to face Phil De Fries at UFC 155.
The event will take place on December 29th in Las Vegas, and will be headlined by the UFC heavyweight title fight between Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez.
Duffee (7-2) is replacing Matt Mitrione who was removed from his fight with De Fries to face Roy Nelson when Shane Carwin had to withdraw from the TUF 16 Finale.
This will be Duffee’s second UFC stint after previously going (1-1) inside the promotion. He has fought twice since leaving the UFC, losing to Alistair Overeem and defeating Neil Grove with both fights ending in less than 35 seconds.
De Fries (9-1, 1NC) is coming off a second round submission win over Oli Thompson at the UFC on FOX 4 event in August. He is currently (2-1) inside the octagon after suffering his first TKO loss at the hands of Stipe Miocic.
