The Maximum Fighting Championship has added a fight to the MFC 34 card with Jacen Flynn (10-2) taking on Elvis “The King” Mutapcic (10-2) in a middleweight matchup on August 10th.

News of the bout was announced by MFC officials today. MFC 34 takes place at the Mayfield Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The headline fight on the night will be Adam Lynn vs. Mukai Maromo who will battle it out for the MFC lightweight title. The main event and the Flynn vs. Mutapcic matchup rounds out the televised card that will live air on AXS TV.

Here is what Maximum Fighting Championship President Mark Pavelich had to say about MFC 34:

“We have been working hard to bolster our middleweight ranks, and the lineup for MFC 34 has proven our efforts to be very successful,” Mark also said “Jacen Flynn against Elvis Mutapcic will be an exciting battle, and with Joseph Henle meeting Luke Harris on the same night, I think we’re going to see the two best contenders step forward to challenge for the MFC middleweight title.”

Jacen Flynn will enter this fight on a four fight winning streak having defeated Hank Weiss twice, Edwin Dewees, and most recently Kyle Keeney at a Combat Development League event in October 2011. Flynn is known for being somewhat of a submission specialist after winning nine of his 12 pro MMA fights via submission.

Elvis Mutapcic was last in action against Keenan Curry at Midwest Cage Championships 39 earlier this year, winning the fight via submission in the second round. This win coupled with his knockout victory over Cezar Ferreira in August 2011 puts him on a two fight winning streak. With big wins against Zak Cummings and Josh Rosaaen under his belt Elvis will be looking to make a statement in the MFC

Here is how the MFC 34 fight card currently looks:

  • Adam Lynn vs. Mukai Maromo, MFC lightweight title

  • Elvis Mutapcic vs. Jacen Flynn, middleweight
  • Mike Hackert vs. Tim Hague, heavyweight
