Bob Sapp vs. Mariusz Pudzianowski has been tabbed as the main event of the upcoming KSW 19 event that’s set for May 19th, at the Atlas Stadium in Lodz, Poland.
Sapp (11-11) has lost eight of his last nine bouts including the last five bouts in a row. He hasn’t won since a March 2010 win over Sascha Weinpolter.
An interesting note is that Sapp has not gone past the 3:17 in the first round of any fight since 2009. Sapp was last seen in action losing to James Thompson via submission due to an apparent leg injury just two months ago.
Sapp was once a formidable foe in his PRIDE and early K-1 kickboxing days due to his sheer size and strength, but seems to be comfortable with just showing up nowadays.
Pudzianowski (3-2, 1NC) was also last seen in action against James Thompson in a fight that was originally scored a decision win for Pudzianowski, only to be overturned to a ‘no contest’ due to a judging error of some sort.
Pudzianowski lost a previous bout with Thompson via submission in May 2011. He is (1-2) in his last three bouts after starting his career with back to back wins. His other loss is against former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia.
