It is UFC vet vs. UFC vet when Paul “Semtex” Daley takes on fellow welterweight Jordan Radev at BAMMA 7 at The NIA Arena in Birmingham, England, on Saturday, Sept. 10.

The British Association of Mixed Martial Arts (BAMMA) confirmed the match-up on Monday via press release.

Daley (27-11-2) first fought for BAMMA in February when he scored a first round knockout victory over Yuya Shirai. The bout was originally supposed to be for the welterweight title but was changed to a non-title bout after Daley came in 0.4 pounds over the 170-pound weight limit.

Not making weight has been a recurring theme throughout the Englishman’s career.

Following the win over Shirai, Daley returned to Strikeforce where he suffered back-to-back losses against Nick Diaz via first round TKO (for the title) and Tyron Woodley via unanimous decision.

Radev (23-4) is riding a four-fight win streak, most recently defeating Maro Perak via split decision at “M-1 Selection 2010: Western Europe Round 3” in May 2010.

Radev fought twice for the UFC in 2007, losing via first round knockout to Drew McFedries at UFC Fight Night 10 and losing via unanimous decision to Dean Lister at UFC  79.

The Bulgarian commented on making his BAMMA debut against Daley:

“It’s a real honor to fight for BAMMA. I’m really impressed by their growth and I’m very happy to be making my debut against a World class fighter. I want BAMMA to see me as a title contender, so if I have to beat the fan favorite for that recognition, so be it.”

Daley and Radev have two very different styles; while nearly 75% of Daley’s wins have come via (T)KO, most of Radev’s wins have come via decision. And while Radev has the better record on paper, most would argue Daley has fought the tougher opposition overall.

In other BAMMA 7 news, Richard Walker has had to withdraw from his bout against Shah Hussein due to injury and will be replaced by TUF 9 veteran Dean Amasinger. Also, Jackson MMA’s Erik Perez will make his BAMMA debut against fellow bantamweight James Brum.
