According to a recent report, Dream featherweight champion Bibiano Fernandes will fight at Dynamite on Dec. 31 in Japan.

FiveOuncesOfPain reported the addition to the card this week. The article cited sources close to the fighter, but did not reveal a potential opponent.

Fernandes defeated Hiroyuki Takaya in the finals of Dream’s featherweight tournament to claim the promotion’s title. He has since defended the belt against former Dream lightweight champion Joachim Hansen. After the fight, news broke that according to Fernandes, FEG, the parent company of Dream and K-1, had not paid him for his fight against Hansen.

Many pundits have asserted that FEG is angling towards a rematch between Fernandes and Takaya. Since dropped the split decision to Fernandes, Takaya has gone 2-1 with a loss coming against Michihiro Omigawa and wins over Hansen and former WEC bantamweight champion Chase Beebe.
