The fighter who many feel will give UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar the toughest fight of his career is Cain Velaquez. In this video FIGHT! Magazine’s Danny Acosta speaks to the American Kickboxing Academy heavyweight about his upcoming title fight against Lesnar and what it means to him.
Velasquez says Lesnar showed he had the heart of a champion in his fight with Shane Carwin, admitting most people would not have made it through that first round, much less come back to win.
Velasquez feels Lesnar’s size and power are his two biggest assets and says he is bringing in some big Division 1 wrestlers to mimic the champ’s wrestling-based style. Lesnar vs. Velasquez will headline UFC 121 scheduled for Oct. 23 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
