Another fight has been added to the UFC 106 card which is headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin. Following a nine month suspension, Karo Parisyan will return to action for his second time this year to face Team Jorge Gurgel BJJ specialist Dustin Hazelett.

It could be said UFC veteran Karo Parisyan (18-5) is skating on thin ice. Although the Armenian American has been a staple of the Ultimate Fighting Championship since UFC 44 in 2003, he lost his lone 2008 fight via TKO to Thiago Alves, and then tested positive for painkillers following next fight in Jan. 2009 against Dong Hyun Kim, causing his split decision win to be overturned and ruled a no-contest.

Karo Parisyan tests positive for painkillers following UFC 94

On Tuesday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission revealed UFC welterweight, Karo Parisyan, tested positive for pain killers following his UFC 94 split decision victory against Dong Hyun Kim. The report stated that unacceptable levels of Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone and Oxymorphone were all found in Parisyan’s system.

Parisyan will most likely be called before the commission and could face both a fine and a suspension. NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer also indicated the potential for Parisyan’s win over Kim to be ruled a no contest. No hearing date has been set as of now.
