Is Bobby Lashley finished with pro wrestling?

Bobby Lashley may be done with professional wrestling once and for all. On Monday’s TNA Impact broadcast on Spike TV, Lashley walked into the ring with his wife Kristal to deliver a message to Hulk Hogan and the audience.

He let his wife do the talking. To summarize her message, she basically said MMA was a legitimate sport and professional wrestling was for “in-bred toothless hillbillies”.

She said her husband was a star in MMA and in wrestling and no one can match his strength. She also said her husband wants out of his TNA contract and told the audience, “Go ahead, take a good look at Bobby because this is the last time you may see him. Like I said, we’ve got better things to do.”

Former WWE champion and undefeated MMA heavyweight Bobby Lashley to make Strikeforce debut on January 30

NEW YORK (December 10, 2009)-Former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) heavyweight champion and undefeated mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Bobby Lashley has signed a multi-year agreement with STRIKEFORCE and will  make his debut for the world championship MMA promotion at BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida on Saturday, January 30.

The 6 foot 3 inch, 250 pound Lashley, also a former collegiate wrestling star for Missouri Valley College and member of The United States Army, will face an opponent that has not yet been determined during the live, SHOWTIME® telecast of STRIKEFORCE:  Miami, the historic, first-ever STRIKEFORCE event in the state of Florida.

In his last MMA start on June 27, 2009, the 33-year-old pulverized and scored a first round (3:17) TKO on 6 foot 5 inch, 350 plus pound goliath Bob “The Beast” Sapp with a barrage of punches in Biloxi, Mississippi.  The win brought Lashley’s overall MMA record to 4-0.

Breaking down Lesnar vs. Lashley

Even before his 41 second destruction of Joshua Franklin, Bobby Lashley hinted that his plan in MMA was to get a few wins, and then challenge Brock Lesnar in the UFC.

With the success Lesnar is having in the octagon, who can blame another former amateur and professional wrestler for wanting to follow the same path.

Even though the match up is still in the hypothetical stages, there is a good chance it could materialize one day, so let’s take a look at how these two big guys match up.
