ProMMA.info’s Vixens of Vengeance, the CageDivas, spoke with top female fighter Erin Toughill this week. Toughill is of course a pioneer in women’s MMA.
The Divas asked her about her upcoming fight on Nov. 7 with Marloes Coenen which will be featured on Strikeforce:
“I had a meeting with Scott Coker up in LA and talked to him for about an hour or so and just expressed what I wanted to do in the division and how I’d like to be a part of it… I think a lot of people knew that Aug. 15 I was supposed to be on the under-card and my management at the time, I just had a lot of issues with communication and contract issues, and we just weren’t able to get anything written to have me involved in that portion… By the time everything blew aside… it was just too late to do anything. From that point until now we have been negotiating and it finally came about even if it was by default. I’m happy to get my opportunity. It was a multi-fight deal that I signed and this will be the first one and I’m taking Cyborg’s place because she got injured.”
