War wounds: Miguel Torres edition

Miguel Torres had a fight with Joseph Benavidez at WEC 47 this past weekend. It was one hell of a battle. Nick Diaz ready for Frank Shamrock on April 11

There were a few fireworks at the STRIKEFORCE press conference yesterday in Hollywood. As the two main event fighters, Nick Diaz and Frank Shamrock, walked out on stage for pictures, Shamrock stuck out his hand for a hand shake only to be met with a bird in the face. At least Diaz keeps it real right? One would be hard pressed to find two more colorful characters for a main event fight. STRIKEFORCE should be applauded not only for a tremendous fight card but giving it to fans free of charge on SHOWTIME.

Photo of Tanner’s campsite a metaphor

by:  Jack Bratcher

If a picture speaks a thousand words, this picture could possibly be looked at as a metaphor for Evan Tanner’s life.  When most people go camping for days at a time you would probably expect to see many more “necessities” at their campsite.  However, the word “necessities” meant something completely different to Evan Tanner than it does to most people.  In that regard, combined with his philosophy on life, Evan Tanner was somewhat of a modern day mystic.

This photograph was published today in the San Diego Union-Tribune.  It is a photo of Evan Tanner’s campsite.  Keep in mind this camp is in the middle of the desert; there are no shade trees, no running water, and over 100-degree heat.  Evan had all that he needed there.  He had his shelter, bedding, a folding chair, and transportation.  Also found were some sunscreen, a highlighter, and a notebook.

Tito’s Triangle at UFC 84

This was Tito’s only hope; a last minute triangle to armbar attempt that quickly failed. Lyoto Machida went on to win a unanimous decision in which could very well be Tito Ortiz’s last fight in the UFC. Notice Tito’s raw leg in the picture; tell tale sign of Machida’s leg kicks. Please like & share:
