ross pearsonUFC officials have announced a change to the upcoming UFC Fight Night 47 event that’s slated to take place on August 16 in Bangor, Maine. Abel Trujillo has had to withdraw from his bout with Ross Pearson due to an injury. Pearson will now face Gray Maynard who was already on the card and slated to face Fabricio Cameos. Now Cameos will be moved to another event later this year due to the changes.

Pearson (15-7, 1NC) is coming off one of the worst judging robberies in recent memory in his last bout against Diego Sanchez. Pearson clearly won the bout, but the judges awarded a split decision to Sanchez.

Maynard (11-3-1, 1NC) is coming off a TKO loss against Nate Diaz in his last outing in November 2013. Maynard has three of his last four bouts, with all of the losses coming via TKO/KO.

The UFC Fight Night 47 event will be headlined by the light heavyweight scrap between Ryan Bader and Ovince St. Preux. The Pearson vs. Maynard bout will serve as the new co-main event.
