“XFC 22: Crossing the Line” takes place this evening at the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte, N.C. and will broadcast LIVE on AXStv. The XFC 22 main event features a lightweight No. 1 contender fight between Scott “Hot Sauce” Holtzman vs. Jason “The Ronin” Hicks.

ProMMAnow.com will provide LIVE results during the event and play-by-play commentary of the main card bouts. The action kicks off at 9 p.m. ET (6 p.m. PT).

XFC 22 play-by-play:

D’juan “Dirty South” Owens vs. Nate “The Train” Landwehr

Round 1 – This should be completely NUTS. Lots of BAD BLOOD. Owens takes the center, leg kick. Leg kick , side kick Owens. Head kick from Landwehr but slips to the ground. Owens pounces as Nate gets up, gives him a body kick. Nate pushes him to the cage, drops levels. Lets it go, they trade knees as Nate backs out. Leg kick Owens. Clinch. Nate pushes him to the cage. Knees to the thighs from Nate. Owens turns him around but Nate turns him around gives a right on the break. Round kick from Owens, Nate counters with a left right combo. Pushes Owns to the cage. Knee to the body from both, body shot from Nate, drops levels for the takedown but it’s a no go. He backs out. Jab, leg kick from Owens. Left hook from Landwehr. He lands a body/head combo and pushes Owens to the cage. Body shots. Nate looking for the takedown but no dice. Leg kick from Nate, high kick Owens, Nate with a punch combo to end the round. PMN sees it 10-9 Landwehr. Miletich sees the round for The Train. The Voice sees it for Owens.

Round 2 – Side kick, leg kick from Owens. Nate backs him up with a punch combo. Side kick from Owens. High kick from Owens, Nate pushes him to the cage, knee from Owens to the body as the clinch. Owens holding the neck of Nate and Nate puts him on the ground. Some blood coming from someone. Owens gets back up as Nate hangs on him. Owens looking for a standing kimura. Nate lands a punch combo on the break. Nate is cut on his hairline. Nate avoids some punches, takes a leg kick. Nate clinches, drops levels and gets Owens down. Owens seems to be slowing down and that’s a bad sign due to Nate’s great cardio. He runs about five miles a day at least. Big body slam from Nate. Takes Owens back for a moment but Owens is back up, Nate hanging on him putting knees in his thighs. Foot stomps from Nate. Owens gets underhooks for a second but Nate immediately regains control and stays on him, drops levels and gets Owens down, lays inside guard as he should take this round. Gritty fight here. PMN sees it 10-9 for Nate.

Round 3 – Owens with a flying side kick, left hook, leg kick. Leg kick, uppercut from Nate. Clinch, knee to the face from Owens. Nate drops levels. Can’t get the takedown, gives him some body shots, presses Owens to the facing wall. Nate backs out but eats a knee. Nate pushes him back to the cage, lifts him up for a slam but Owens defends. Knees to the thigh from Nate. Ref separates them. Leg kick from Owens. They trade hooks, punch combo, uppercut from Nate as he presses him to the cage. Body shots from Nate, punches to the thigh. Knees to the thigh. Nate backs out. Leg kick from Owens, jumping knee and a side kick from Owens., another side kick to the body. Nate staying in his face. Nate with a combo and presses him to the cage. Nate was looking a bit tired too with his punches when they separated. Nate lands a right and takes a leg kick before the bell. Nate appears to be injured, he may have hurt his arm on one of those kicks he blocked from Owens. I have the round 10-9 and the fight 30-27 for Landwehr. We are in Owen’s backyard though. — THAT’S A HOMETOWN DECISION IF I’VE EVER SEEN ONE. My god that was freaking a terrible decision.

Jimmy “The Prowler” Fowler vs. D’Angelo Bynum

Round 1 – Touch gloves. Left right from Bynum, clinch, knee, Thai plum and several knees, he fires off a flurry of pain, strike after strike, punches in bunches and knees and Fowler somehow gets a takedown, takes Bynum’s back. Man, I thought he was done! Fowler with his hooks in. Bynum face down on his knees. Fowler softens him up with shots. Fowler hangs out for awhile landing the occasional hammer fist, goes for the choke, loses it, back to the feet and Bynum unloads a vicious flurry of strikes, Fowler knocks his mouthpiece out. Thai plum from Bynum and a knee to the face. Fowler jumps for a flying arm bar, misses it and now is on the bottom eating punches. Fowler throws up his legs for an arm, but no dice. Time is out. PMN has it 10-9 for Bynum — this guy has some very nice striking.

Round 2 – Touch gloves. Side kick from Fowler. Right hook and right from Bynum, backs Fowler up to the cage with strikes, Fowler covers up, throws a left but over extends and gets put on his back. Bynum inside guard, postures up with punches, lays inside closed guard. Bynum with the ground and pound, scramble, almost has his back, back inside guard. A bloody-faced Fowler goes for the arm bar, gets pretty close but Bynum gets out and stands up. They square up. Straight left from Fowler. Inside leg kick from Bynum. Another. Straight left, right, and a side kick from Fowler. Bynum scores with a right but eats one back. He backs Fowler to the corner with one final flurry. PMN has it 10-9 Bynum.

Round 3 – They trade punches, knee from Bynum that rocks Fowler momentarily. Right hook Fowler. Leg kick, counter right from Bynum connects solid. Bynum comes in swinging, Fowler dodges the damage. Leg kick Bynum. Nice left from Fowler. Side kick. One two three four from Fowler, Bynum avoids it and gives him a nice knee, leg kick. Bynum hanging back taking his time, all the pressure should be on Fowler right now. He shoots, stuffed and Bynum unloads a punch combo making him pay. They reset in the center. Man Bynum has some fluid striking. Very quick too. VERY. Counter left right from Bynum. Clinch, two uppercuts, two knees and about five punches to follow from Bynum. Fowler escapes from having his back to the cage. Side kick from Fowler scores. Clinch, knee, big punch combo from Bynum to take the round 10-9 and the fight 30-27 as I see it.

Josh “The Juggernaut” Eagans vs. Roger “The Leprechaun” Carroll

Round 1 – Clinch against the cage, knee from Carroll to the body, again. Carroll grips the neck, gives a knee. Knee to body, drops levels.Carroll with the slam. Drops an elbow and punches from half guard. Eagans gets up, still clinched, eats a couple knees to the face. Big slam from Carroll, in half guard.Stalemate. Eagans has a key lock, Carroll gets out, now inside full guard punching the body.Nice knees to the thighs from Carroll. Carroll tries to pass guard, gets to half guard very briefly, lands a couple short punches but Eagans recovers full guard. One minute to go. Eagans gets to his feet as Carroll hangs on to his neck for a standing guillotine, Eagans squirms, takes a knee to the face that stuns him. Carroll puts him back down, takes his back with the choke locked on as time runs out, he was turning very red and was literally saved by the buzzer. PMN sees it 10-9 Carroll.

Round 2 – Eagans shoots, sprawl from Carroll but ends up on his back after all, looking for an arm. Eagans on top inside full guard. Carroll locks up a tight triangle and it takes about five seconds before Eagans is completely asleep. Carroll is a BJJ black belt by the way. The transition to that triangle was very slick.

Suzie Montero vs. Pearl Gonzalez

Round 1 – Right from Montero, Gonzalez pushes her to the cage and gets the takedown. High guard from Montero, closed. Gonzalez working the ground and pound. Gonzalez postures up with ground and pound, Montero fighting to control her and make something happen, goes for an arm, locks up a bicep slicer, lets it go. Very active guard from Montero. Feet on hips, wrist control, hammerfists from off her back. Montero has a very nice guard. Gonzalezz does to get to side control finally. Montero gets half guard but Gonzalez goes for an arm bar with just over 10 seconds left, and with about one second left Montero taps. Wow!! She made a last second adjustment and it made the difference.

Joseph Corneroli vs. Ricky “The Sniper” Rainey

Round 1 – Ricky Rainey is a BAD dude. Fun to watch. Side kick from Corneroli, again. Lots of those tonight. Round house attempt from Corneroli, runs into a straight right. More kicks from Corneroli and Rainey times him up to the cage, knee to body, Corneroli gives one back, clinches, turns him around and Rainey turns him around. Knees to thigh from Corneroli, dirty boxing and knee to the body from Rainey. Corneroli turns him to the cage. Rainey reverses. It’s a clinch war game of dos-e-do. Elbow from Rainey, knee to body, dirty boxing. Corneroli turns him around, knee to body. More clinch work, knees and body shots from Rainey, elbows to the thigh. Elobw and a big punch combo from Rainey on the break before the bell stuns Corneroli to put a stamp on the round. PMN sees it 10-9 Rainey.

Round 2 – Touch gloves. Corneroli has this karate stance and lots of karate style kicks. Round kick from Corneroli to the body score. Corneroli bouncing on the balls of his feet, jumps in with a side kick but eats a right from Rainey. Corneroli with a left hand as Rainey pushes him to the cage in a clinch. They dos-e-do and Rainey gives him several right hands to the face from the clinch. Nice elbow from Rainey get some cheers. Clinch, knee to gut from Rainey. Ref finally separates them. Lunging right hook, knee from Corneroli. Leg kick. Crane kick is next. Rainey pushes him to the cage, right back to the clinch. Nice elbow from Rainey. Lots of clinch fighting tonight guys, not the prettiest fights we’ve seen. Corneroli finally gets out of the clinch, leaps in with a right hook, then a left. Rainey gets a takedown before the bell. PMN has it 10-9 Rainey.

Round 3 – Corneroli with a side kick, walks into a right. Rainey slips on a kick. Corneroli tags him with a left and right, hurts him. Rainey is staggered and Corneroli drops down for a guillotine, Rainey pops out and gets up. Gets a body lock on Corneroli and presses him to the cage. Crowd cheers or Corneroli. Rainey is exhausted. Couple right hands a big elbow from Rainey, two knees, another big elbow. They dos-e-do from one cage wall to the other. Corneroli’s nose is a bloody mess. Two minutes to go. Corneroli grabs a leg, lets it go. Body lock from Rainey. Rainey unloads a big punch exchange to the face and snaps Corneroli’s head back before Rainey clinches. Corneroli escapes to the center and goes for a head kick, punch, Rainey goes for the takedown, sprawl from Corneroli, clinch to the cage. Rainey tries for one last takedown but no dice. PMN has it 10-9 and 30-27 for Rainey.

Scott “Hot Sauce” Holtzman vs. Jason “The Ronin” Hicks

Round 1 – Title shot on the line. Leg kick Scott. Nice Superman punch from Scott, pushes Hicks to the cage. Hicks gets free to the center, leaping in with a one two punch from Scott, clinches, presses Hicks to cage. Hicks escapes, throws a big right. Big leg kick from Scott. Left from Hicks. Scott presses him to the cage. Knee from Scott, Hicks backs out. Leg kick from Scott. Nice head movement from Scott. Leg kick inside. Working the angles is Scott, left hook, Thai plum, lets it go, presses Hicks to cage. Hicks with underhooks, backs out. Body kick from Scott, another one with the other leg, presses Hicks to the cage. Knees from Scott to the thigh. Hicks turns and backs out, big flying knee from Hicks goes just over Holztman’s head, a short right staggers Scott. Scott gets the takedown before the bell, had to push through hard to get it and gets in an elbow before the bell. Man that flying knee just misses Scott. That would have been BAD. Close round guys. I might lean toward Scott, but The Voice and Miletich gave it to Hicks.

Round 2 – Leg kick from Scott. Big knee from Hicks catches Scott in the face (it appears) and knocks him completely in the opposite direction, he looks dazed for a moment, but clinches and puts Hicks to the cage, uses an inside trip to get the takedown, now inside his full guard. That was one of the weirdest things I’ve seen was that knee that turned him around. It didn’t even look real it happened so fast. Scott working the ground and pound, elbow, he postures up, stacks Hicks, dropping short elbows but Hicks is giving him some trouble from the bottom throwing elbows and Holtzman is bleeding a bit. Two minutes to go. Hicks has a Jon Jones-esque body. He’s a longer guy than most in this weight class. Fast hands too. Inside leg kick from Scott. Left hook, jumping knee from Scott, Scott presses him to the cage, big takedown with under a minute to go. Scott inside full guard drops some short elbows. Nice elbows from the bottom from Hicks.  PMN has it 10-9 Holtzman.

Round 3 – It could be tied up here. Leg kick from Scott. Left from Scott, clinches, puts Hicks to the cage. Knees to the thigh, Hicks breaks out to the center. Leg kick Scott. Leg kick Scott. Great head movement from Scott. Leg kick from Scott. Nice left hook from Hicks. Scott staying very aggressive, kick, clinch presses him to the cage. 3:00 to go, a lot on the line here. Ref resets them. Leg kick, overhand right from Scott.  Leg kick. Jumping knee, big left hook catches Hicks on the chin and drops Hicks. Holtzman goes in for the kill, gets stuck inside full guard now. 1:30 to go. Holtzman working but ref stands them up. Scott catches a kick, sweeps the back leg and ends back up on top of Hicks inside guard. Holtzman staying busy, postures up, drops a big right. Scott turns it on with 10 seconds left. Scott helps Hicks up after the round. That was a beautiful short right from Holtzman that nearly ended it. PMN has it 10-9 and 30-27 for Holtzman.
