The weigh-ins for WEC: TORRES vs. MIZUGAKI took place at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Chicago, Illinois today, April 4th, at 4:00pm CT/2:00pm PT.  All but one made weight, although three fighters had to remove their shorts to make their fight weight limit. Mike Budnik weighed in at 149 pounds; three pounds over the 146 pound bantamweight limit.

“The Big Frog” Jeff Curran will be making his bantamweight debut Sunday night as he faces Team Alpha Male fighter and Urijah Faber-trained prospect, Joseph Benavidez. The veteran, Curran, will have his hands full with Benavidez who is undefeated at 9-0.

In the main event, the number one ranked bantamweight in the world, Miguel Torres, will be fighting the number six ranked bantamweight Takeya Mizugaki. Mizugaki, who stepped in to take the place of an injured Brian Bowles, is making his WEC as well as U.S. debut. Mizugaki’s record stands at 11-2-2.
