On November, 21 M-1 Challenge 9 will be held at the Sports Hall “Ice Palace” in Moscow. Red Devil will take on Team Korea and Russia’s Legion will look to gain victory over Team Holland. In one of two scheduled superfights Aleksander Emelianenko (13-3) will face off with Korean prospect Sang Soo Lee (9-4) who’s coming off an impressive stoppage victory over Roman Zentsov at M-1 Challenge 7.

Aleksander is on a four fight win streak, ending them all in the first round, two by submission and two by KO. His most recent fight was against Silvao Santos in April of this year. He defeated Santos by TKO (Punches) in round one. People will remember that Aleksander was scheduled to fight on the Affliction: Banned card earlier this year but was pulled off the card at the last minute due to medical clearance problems.

Rumors then surfaced that Aleksander had Hepatitis B and would never be allowed to fight in the U.S.. This is something Aleks has adamantly denied saying it was nothing more than a paperwork problem which caused him to be cut from the Affliction card.

Although his brother Fedor is regarded by many as the number one heavyweight in the world, Aleksander is also a top level competitor. All three of his losses have come from top ten caliber fighters.
