World Combat Sports Challenge presents “Female Fury II” – First all-female Muay Thai / MMA card in California history

San Francisco, CA (USA): World Combat Sports Challenge (WCSC), a rising fight promotion based in the Bay Area, is proud to present the first-ever all-female Muay Thai/mixed martial arts event in California history, as “FEMALE FURY II” takes place on Saturday, September 19th at the historic Kezar Pavilion in San Francisco, CA. Many Muay Thai and MMA world championships will be decided on this hybrid fight card, and Doors will open at 5 PM, and the fights will start at 6 PM. WCSC play by play live from San Francisco

Photos of the event.A night of both Muay Thai and MMA is about to kick off from the Kezar Pavilion in San Francisco.  We have already seen the local MMA stars turn out for this event including names like Kurt Osiander, Darren Uyenoyama, Gilbert Melendez, Jake Shields, Eric Lawson and Ryan Bastianelli. He was scheduled to fight but his opponent dropped off due to his imprisonment in the county lock up!  Not to be outdone, Anderson Silva is here cornering two of his fighters!  The arena begins to fill up and separate in their academies sections. Stay tuned as the fights will start shortly.

UPDATE.. There appears to be an issue with the ring ropes and there tautness. A delay is forthcoming. Welcome to grassroots MMA.. There has been a shifty sighting in the arena. Seth “Shifty” Binzer from Celebrity Rehab fame is also in attendance. Currently all he is seeing the the rebuilding of the ring. More excitement to come. Bryan Padilla started off the night in a Thai fight winning a unanimous decision.

World Combat Sports Challenge: The Awakening set for May 30th in San Francisco

PRO MMA (promma.info) was notified today that longtime Muay Thai promotion, World Combat Sports Challenge (WCSC) will present its first hybrid Muay Thai/MMA event, “THE AWAKENING,” on Saturday, May 30th, live from the Kezar Pavilion in San Francisco, CA. The main event will be an MMA fight with King of the Cage Champion Ky Hollenbeck vs. WEC vet Blas Avena. The bouts will take place in a Pride-style 5-rope ring.

Also on the card will be San Francisco’s own Rick Cheek battling for the WCSC Super-Heavyweight World Title against Ethan Cox. Former 3-time world kickboxing and Muay Thai champion Michael Espinoza will be making his return to the fight game after an absence of nearly 17 years. Espinoza’s perfect 32-0 record and the WCSC Super-Lightweight Muay Thai belt will be on the line as Espinoza battles rising Muay Thai star Victor Cortez (23-2, 16 KO’s). “I’m looking forward to getting back into the ring,” says Espinoza. “I’ve been training hard, and Cortez is a talented kid. I’m sure it will be a good fight.”
