UFC 2009 Undisputed game cover revealed

Forrest Griffin has received the special honor to appear on the cover of the highly anticipated upcoming video game UFC 2009 UNDISPUTED. Griffin became the original ‘Ultimate Fighter’ in 2005 after winning a six-figure contract with the UFC on the first season of the hit SPIKE TV reality series.

The 2008 Canadian ‘Athlete of the Year’, Georges St. Pierre, will appear on a special edition of UFC 2009 UNDISPUTED only available in Canada. Retail cost for the game will be the XBOX/PS3 standard of $59.99 in the U.S. The game is scheduled to ship on May 19th which usually means they will hit shelves a day later in most cases.

THQ launches ‘UFC 2009 UNDISPUTED’ web site

GSP in the new UFC video game

Just in time for UFC 94, THQ launched the official UFC 2009 UNDISPUTED video game website on Friday, January 30th, with a digital gameplay rendition of GSP vs. Penn. The site is located at www.ufcundisputed.com and includes developer blogs, video clips of actual gameplay, and a community forum page. THQ plans on releasing more goodies on the new site such as exclusive content, up to date game info, and specific game features in the near future. They are even planning on holding contests and polls for UFC Pay-Per-Views and Fight Night programming on Spike TV.

According to THQ, Undisputed will include more than 80 UFC superstars, past and present. The highly anticipated game will also include a “create a fighter” and career options, as well as online game play. The site also includes a few fighter renditions as well as their stats and upcoming fights. The fighters currently displayed are Dan Henderson, BJ Penn, Forrest Griffin, Georges St. Pierre, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, and Rich Franklin. More fighters will be added as the release date nears.

Joe Rogan comments on UFC video game contract issue

Joe Rogan posted a response to a forum thread on mixedmartialsarts.com giving his take on Dana White’s recent outburst regarding the contract status of Jon Fitch, and other fighters out of the American Kickboxing Academy.

Rogan commented on Dana White as a person by saying “Dana is a very unconventional person. If you’re with him, you’re his friend and he’s the best guy in the world to have on your side. Conversely, if you’re against him he’s your worst fucking enemy.”

Dana who? Jon Fitch back in the UFC

Have you ever gone over your boss’s head about something? Maybe you didn’t like the way he was doing something so you went to his boss and took care of it? Well, that is similar to what Jon Fitch has done. Previously we told you Fitch and Christian Wellisch had been cut from the UFC due to a merchandising contract dispute.

Yesterday the MMA community was stunned to learn  the welterweight contender had been ousted from the company.  Howerver, reports are now coming in that Fitch, after speaking with billionaire UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta via telephone has settled their differences and Fitch has agreed to sign the video game licensing agreement which in a sense was at the root of the problem.
