The Sunkist International Open set to take place in October

After a disappointing showing at the 2010 FILA Wrestling World Championships, USA Wrestling will kick off the new international wrestling season with the annual Sunkist Kids International Open. The event will be held of the campus of Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz. on Oct. 22.

Travis Paulson and Brent Metcalf shine at USA Wrestling’s World Team Trials

Travis Paulson put together quite a weekend a the 2010 U.S. World Team Trials. After finishing second last year, Paulson defeated 2008 Olympian Ben Askren and his twin brother to take the challenge tournament. He then won two straight matches against U.S. Open champion Andrew Howe to earn a spot on the World Team.

USA Wrestling releases new Senior Rankings

In preparation for the 2010 World Team Trials, USA Wrestling has released an updated version of the Senior Level Rankings. The rankings rank the top-ten in each weight class of the three different wrestling styles, freestyle, Greco-Roman and women’s freestyle.
