“Who’s the baby?” – Rampage responds to Dana White

Is that a baby's hat?

In the ongoing battle of words between Rampage Jackson and UFC president Dana White, the former UFC light heavyweight champion has once again used the power of the Internet to fire back at White from the bunker of his blog via www.rampage-jackson.com.

White was a guest Tuesday on The Carmichael Dave Radio Show and basically said Rampage was acting immature. “Rampage is a grown man. He’s acting like a baby right now, but he’s a grown man,” White said on the broadcast.

Quinton Jackson says, “I’m done fighting”

According to Tuesday’s blog entry on his website, Quinton Jackson is done fighting. Citing multiple reasons for his “retirement,” mainly betrayal on the part of UFC President Dana White, Jackson claims he is finished with professional mixed martial arts altogether.

Rampage’s first fight in the UFC was against Marvin Eastman at UFC 67 in February 2007. Jackson won via second round knock out. He went on to amass a 5-1 record and win the light heavyweight title under the UFC banner.

Jackson is a coach on the current season of Spike TV’s The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights reality show. Jackson was originally set to fight his opposing TUF 10 coach Rashad Evans in December, but a movie role in an upcoming A-Team movie forced Jackson to postpone the fight. Now it appears the fight will never happen if Jackson follows through with his statements.

Dana White is mad, but not quite ready to fire Rampage.

UFC President Dana White was recently asked what he thought about the guys that are trying to split their time between acting and fighting. His response was that he hated it.

“I hate it so bad I can’t even tell you how bad I hate it,” said White. “I’m so mad at Rampage over this. Rampage is a guy we’ve obviously taken under our wing the last few years, really like him, have done a lot of good things for him, and for him to do this to me, to pull out and do this goofy A-Team movie, man I’m not happy about it at all.”

Rampage seems to think his movie career is a higher priority than fighting Rashad Evans.

It seems Tennessee MMA fans will have to wait longer than expected before they get to see Memphis hometown hero Quinton “Rampage” Jackson come home to fight.

Jackson was originally scheduled to fight Rashad Evans, his opposing coach on season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter, at UFC 107 on Dec. 12 in Memphis. It is customary for the coaches of the hit Spike TV reality show to face each other in the Octagon at the culmination of each season.

Apparently Jackson has landed the role of B.A. Baracus in a new A-Team movie and there are scheduling conflicts between filming and the time he would need to train for the fight. Jackson has reportedly asked the fight be moved to early 2010.
