“The Ultimate Fighter 10: Heavyweights”- episode 11 & 12 recap

Well, this is it. Two hours and four fights and we will know who is the newest Ultimate Fighter. We have been teased with the possible return of “Kimbo” all season since his elimination, and will find out tonight if it was a ratings ploy, or if he truly will be back in contention for the title.

The episode starts with Dana White addressing the guys and explaining the possibility of Mitrione maybe not being able to go. Dana calls in “Kimbo” to see his mindset on possibly fighting again, and gives his thoughts on “Kimbo’s” knee injury.

Dana informs viewers that “Kimbo” is suffering from arthritis, but cannot believe that “Kimbo” is turning down a shot for a fight with McSweeney. “Kimbo” explains that he is using his brains instead of his brawn in this decision to not go, and that he will fight another day.

There was no The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights this week on Spike TV, because next week will be the two hour final episode of season 10. There will be a total of four fights on next week’s episode, and from the look of this preview, anything could happen! The doctor tells Scott Junk he may never … Read more

Justin “The Viking” Wren’s “The Ultimate Fighter 10″ blog – episode 8

Justin Wren takes on Roy Nelson on Wednesday, Nov. 11, on The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights on Spike TV.

Episode 8: Itsy Bitsy Spider

The episode started off with the Recap of the Junk vs. Mitrione fight. I was quoted saying Junk fought to 10 percent of his potential. I think he fought with a ton of heart though. Junk in practice is a monster, an animal; he has great conditioning contrary to what he showed and is a well-rounded fighter.

I still think he was the top one or two guys on his team. Junk had to have eye surgery after the fight, and also going into the fight he put a lot of pressure on himself for his family. I will not go into what happened but there was a family tragedy that struck him before he left and it was really on his mind. All that, plus the house puts a lot of pressure on people, and I think that should be told to people who have never thought about it.

There is only one fight left in the prelims, and tonight we will get to see Marcus “Big Baby” Jones vs. Mike Wessel, before the next round of match ups are announced.

After the obligatory fight re-cap, “Rampage” goes on a rampage, destroying one of the doors leading out of the training center, in front of UFC President Dana White, and the rest of the cast.

Back at the house, the damage to Scott Junk that Justin Wren mentioned in last week’s blog is apparent. Junk’s eye looks to be badly damaged, and was apparently hurt by a poke in the eye during the fight, which required the fighter to have surgery to have it repaired.

Justin Wren TUF Blog: Voices in my head

The fight picks come out and we picked Matt “The Rat” Mitrione to fight Scott “Punk Haole” Junk, which then leaves Mike Wessell to fight Marcus Jones. It looks like Matt’s manipulation skills have worked out for him and he no longer had to fight Marcus Jones who we all agreed he was scared to fight.

Rashad and Rampage get into each other’s faces. Rampage said “he didn’t quit on his guys and that his fighters quit in the cage.” He also went on to agree that he isn’t a coach and Rashad calls him out and says he shouldn’t have accepted the job. The argument gets heated, and personal… These two guys really do HATE each other! In my opinion Ramapage shouldn’t have taken the job; yes it does hype up their fight, yes it does get him more exposure, but he has EIGHT guy’s futures that he is representing… and representing EXTREMELY poorly.

The beef continues between Coach “Rampage” and Coach Evans to start this episode. Nothing new there, it just sucks that we don’t get to see these two guys settle it in the Octagon.

After a pretty bad “stanky leg” reenactment by “Rampage”, the last two fight match ups are announced by Coach Evans. In the first match up, former NFL player Matt Mitrione will face off against UFC veteran Scott Junk. The final bout be Mike Wessel versus Marcus “Big Baby” Jones.

The war of words between Coach “Rampage” and Coach Evans continue after the fight picks. With tensions escalating, the two coaches have to be separated once again, by their teams and assistant coaches.

Despite “Kimbo’s” loss last week, and record ratings for the show, the powers behind the UFC machine are not ready to relinquesh top ratings and huge numbers associated by having “Kimbo Slice” as a part of the show this season.

That is why commercials and previews for tonight’s show included hints and peeks into the possibility of “Kimbo” working his way back into the competition by way of either sickness or injury to another fighter.

After a quick recap of the Roy “Big Country” Nelson vs. Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson fight, and some comments from the fighters, Nelson is shown making some remarks that rub “Rampage” the wrong way as he makes his way out of the cage.

The Ultimate Fighter 10 Spotlight: Jon Madsen – PROMMA.INFO exclusive interview

As the tenth season of the UFC’s hit reality series The Ultimate Fighter gets underway this week on Spike TV, you will see some very large men all competing for a chance to win a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

One of these large heavyweights is six-foot 240-pound Jon Madsen. He is a little different than most guys who come on the show. Madsen lives in The H.I.T. Squad fighter dorms, so transferring into a house full of fighters where he has to share the bathroom and kitchen was not a huge adjustment.
