Pro MMA Now exclusive interview with Jeremy Pender

Jeremy Pender will be facing BJ Ferguson in the main event of this weekend's Hardrock MMA event.

As I stated in an interview with BJ Ferguson that I just posted, MMA fans in an around the Shepherdsville, Ky area have more to choose from this weekend than just the UFC. Hardrock MMA is putting on a massive fight card with eighteen fights capped off by a 135 pound matchup between area standouts Jeremy Pender and BJ Ferguson. I had the opportunity to correspond with both Pender and Ferguson before their fights. Just like I said in my interview with BJ, take some time to learn a little bit more about both these guys, and if you’re in the area make sure to catch the fight. It’s going to be a banger.

Normally fighting at 330, Davis will make his pro debut at a catchweight of 285

Jim Davis is set to make his professional MMA debut at Intimidation Cage Fighting 17 on Oct. 31, 2009, at Turfway Park in Florence, Ky. The reigning ICF super-heavyweight champion, Davis will actually be making his pro debut at a catchweight of 285 as he moves down to the heavyweight division, where he plans on playing out his pro career. Davis’s five amateur wins never made it out of the first round, and never out of the first minute.

However, Davis is not one to back down from a challenge, a fact made especially clear when the ICF announced who he would be facing in his first professional fight – UFC veteran Dan Christison.

PROMMA.INFO recently had the chance to catch up with Davis to talk about his fighting career so far and what he thinks about facing such a tough opponent in his first professional match.

Indiana (USA): What started out as simply a potentially great fight has evolved into a blood feud between MMA Big Show Welterweight Champion “Relentless” Roger Bowling (6-0) and former UFC bad boy War Machine (10-2).

After having to pull out of a fight against Machine twice due to injury, Bowling is being forced to defend himself against all kinds of verbal attacks from his proposed opponent.

“Twice we have been scheduled to fight now and twice he has suddenly gotten injured two weeks before the fight! If you’re scared to fight the War Machine, don’t sign on the dotted line,” Machine told Fighters.com (in the only printable portion of the interview).
