On Sept. 12, 2009, “Bitetti Combat Nordeste 4” took place at the Maracanazinho Gymnasium, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Ricardo Arona returned to the cage after a two-and-a-half year absence to face Marvin Eastmen in the main event. The first two rounds were close, and going into the third round most had it scored one round each. Arona sealed his fate in the final round by landing some strikes and then scoring a takedown to win the unanimous decision.

In other bouts, Paulo Filho won a lackluster unanimous decision over Alex Schoenauer and Pedro Rizzo defeated Jeff Monson also by unanimous decision. Alex “The Brazilian Killa” Stiebling failed to live up to his nickname as Murilo “Ninja” Rua sent the UFC and PRIDE veteran to the canvas with a first round knockout.
