Paulie Malignaggi opens up on Conor McGregor’s ‘respectable power’

Former boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi recently put in some sparring rounds with Conor McGregor to help him get ready for his Aug. 29 showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Many are wondering if Conor will be able to land on the defensive genius, and if so, can he hurt Floyd. Malignaggi recently spoke about the sparring session and his takeaway from it but in this new interview he opens up even more.

“Conor has pop that you have to respect,” Malignaggi said. “Conor’s power is definitely something you have to respect. It’s just not ‘oh my god’ power. And ‘oh my god’ power in reality is very rare.”

ProMMAnow.com caught up with boxing icon “Sugar” Shane Mosley at Bellator 85 this past week in Irvine, Calif. Mosley talked about some of the fights he was impressed with on the card and his familiarity with mixed martial arts. Mosley discussed his appreciation for the various disciplines of mixed martial arts, and although he said he has tried grappling, we probably shouldn’t expect the 41-year-old three-division world champ to start following UFC President Dana White around the country and stalking him at press conferences asking for a shot in the UFC like our old friend James Toney did.
