“The Ultimate Fighter 10: Heavyweights”- episode 8 recap

There is only one fight left in the prelims, and tonight we will get to see Marcus “Big Baby” Jones vs. Mike Wessel, before the next round of match ups are announced.

After the obligatory fight re-cap, “Rampage” goes on a rampage, destroying one of the doors leading out of the training center, in front of UFC President Dana White, and the rest of the cast.

Back at the house, the damage to Scott Junk that Justin Wren mentioned in last week’s blog is apparent. Junk’s eye looks to be badly damaged, and was apparently hurt by a poke in the eye during the fight, which required the fighter to have surgery to have it repaired.

“The Ultimate Fighter 10: Heavyweights”- episode 7 recap

The beef continues between Coach “Rampage” and Coach Evans to start this episode. Nothing new there, it just sucks that we don’t get to see these two guys settle it in the Octagon.

After a pretty bad “stanky leg” reenactment by “Rampage”, the last two fight match ups are announced by Coach Evans. In the first match up, former NFL player Matt Mitrione will face off against UFC veteran Scott Junk. The final bout be Mike Wessel versus Marcus “Big Baby” Jones.

The war of words between Coach “Rampage” and Coach Evans continue after the fight picks. With tensions escalating, the two coaches have to be separated once again, by their teams and assistant coaches.

Meet your UFC rookies

Patrick Barry will give Dan Evensen all he can handle at UFC 92
Patrick Barry makes his UFC debut at UFC 92

Where is a place all champions have been but never want to return? It’s a place where dues are paid and checks are made. It’s a proving ground, a place to show your skills and put on a show. It’s a place where a fighter wants to do their absolute best even though the majority of people may never even see it.

It’s been said that the loneliest place in the world is inside the Octagon. If that is true, then inside the Octagon, ON THE UNDERCARD is the loneliest place in the universe.

The UFC has used their undercards for years to bring in new talent, test them out, and see what they are made of.  Hopefully, the fighters do well enough they can one day fight on the main card.

UFC 92: The Ultimate 2008 card finalized

The UFC has announced their full lineup for the December 27th event, dubbed “The Ultimate 2008.” This card is stacked from top to bottom, with two titles on the line and many other explosive matchups.

Rampage Jackson faces Wanderlei Silva in what promises to be an MMA fan’s dream fight. As many may remember, Silva won the first two times these gladiators faced off; both times in the Pride Fighting Championships and both times in impressive knockout fashion.

Wanderlei would like to put together a win streak and build upon his last victory, while Rampage looks to avenge his two previous losses to Silva, and hopefully get back in line for a shot at the UFC LHW Title. As most know, there is genuinely bad blood between these two so look for sparks to fly.
