Fighters Arena 3 took place over the weekend in Lodz, Poland and featured a heavyweight main event match-up between Michal Kita and Damion Martindale.
One of the best European heavyweights and Bellator veteran, Michal “Masakra” Kita (12-6) will face XFC veteran Chris “Beast Boy” Barnett (7-1) in the Fighters Arena 3 main event Sept. 29 in Lodz, Poland. The fight, along with two others on the card, are being promoted as Poland vs. USA. The rest of the card is being promoted as Lodz vs Warsaw, with fighters representing both cities facing off against one another.
Due apparently to the sad state of affairs of Japanese MMA, heavyweight Dave “Pee Wee” Herman has split from Sengoku and signed on with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
After spending the majority of 2010 locked in a contract dispute, Dave “Pee Wee” Herman (20-2) faced Polish heavyweight Michal Kita (10-5) on Thursday, Sept. 30, at Bellator 31 in Lake Charles, La.
Bellator 31 features the semifinal round of Bellator’s 115 lb. women’s tournament featuring Zoila “The Warrior Princess” Frausto vs. Jessica “Jag” Aguilar and Megumi “Mega Megu” Fujii vs. Lisa Ward. Also, Chris Lozano takes on Yoshiyuki Yoshida.
The fighter weigh-ins for Bellator 31 took place on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at the L’Auberge du Lac Casino and Resort, the same location that will host tonight’s fight card which airs LIVE on FOX Sports Net at 7 p.m. CT.
Bellator may have settled their beef with Dave Herman by giving him a fight on Thursday’s Bellator 31 card in Lake Charles, La., but they certainly are not going out of their way to promote him.
