World Series of Fighting Canada’s first fight card of 2014 airs this Friday, Feb. 28, at 9:30 p.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. PT on NBCSN. The two-hour broadcast features six action-packed contests from “World Series of Fight Canada: Ford vs. Powell”.
World Series of Fighting Canada will crown its first Canadian welterweight champion, as one of Canada’s best, Edmonton, Alberta’s own Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford (21-4) takes on the KO artist Joel Powell (7-3) of Hamilton, Ontario.
Never in the history of what is arguably the Mecca of MMA in Canada has the city of Edmonton’s fight fans been more excited about an event. The cities biggest and brightest stars will all be showcased in one night at the Shaw Conference Centre.
Episode 7 begins with Team Nelson celebrating Colton Smith’s win. Coach Nelson does away with the straw method for picking the next fighter, instead going with picking numbers. Dom Waters is the closest and after some discussion on who he should or should not fight, Dom decides to pass, giving the fight to Michael Hill.
