Kimbo talks about taking those leg kicks and much more after the jump…
Who would have ever guessed coming into the match up between Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson and Houston Alexander, that the fight would last more than a minute, let alone go the full three rounds? Not only did the bout go the distance, but it took nearly three minutes before the fighters even engaged, with Houston Alexander doing Nascar-esque laps circling around the Octagon as “Kimbo” gave chase.
Finally, Alexander decided to initiate his game plan of picking “Kimbo” apart with kicks, zeroing in on his opponent’s arthritic knee. The action, or lack there of, initiated a smattering of boos from the audience, which expected fireworks from the usually aggressive fighters from the opening bell.
The second stanza lived up to the hype and more, with the ATT trained “Kimbo” showing off his newly honed clinch and ground game, introducing the world to the “Kimbo-plex”. The suplex set the tempo for the rest of the round as “Kimbo” dominated Alexander on the ground. “Kimbo” maintained top position and unleashed a furious ground and pound game on Alexander, clearly winning him Round 2 easily.

ProMMA.info participated in today’s The Ultimate Fighter season 10: Heavyweights Finale conference call featuring finalists Roy Nelson and Brendan Schaub, along with Kimbo Slice and Houston Alexander, who will also be fighting on the card.
Whether it be from the weight cut or something else, Kimbo seemed a bit agitated with the many of the questions and did not seem to want to be on the call, especially at first. Comparatively, the other fighters seemed in good spirits.
One of the call’s highlights was when Kimbo was asked if there was any fighter he could model himself after, who would it be. Kimbo said, “I’m a grown man. I can’t say nothing like that. All the fighters who are good.” It was a funny moment that had his opponent laughing. You can hear this and all of the fighters’ comments on the audio below. Also, there are some notable quotes after the jump.
