The UFC’s retaliatory war against Pay-Per-View pirates continues. Zuffa has served the websites Justin.tv and Ustream.tv with subpoenas commanding them to reveal the identities of persons who have uploaded live UFC Pay-Per-View events to their websites.

Teens in underground fight clubs come face-to-face with real UFC fighters on Dr. Phil

PRO MMA (promma.info) told you earlier this week that Forrest Griffin along with Kenny Florian and UFC President Dana White was going to appear on an upcoming episode of Dr. Phil. Dr. Phil has now released details of the show entitled “Dangerous Teen Trends” in a weekly newsletter and on his website.

Dr. Phil McGraw is a former psychologist who was first introduced to television audiences as a regular guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show in the 90’s. He later branched out into his own show and has been on the air since 2002. His show addresses all sorts of issues from weight-loss to teens on drugs to cheating spouses. Dr. Phil acts as a type of psychological guru who offers advice and help to those in crisis.

The upcoming episode which deals, with among other things, teenagers who participate in underground fight clubs, and two teens in particular who say these unsanctioned fights are helping them prepare to reach their goal of becoming UFC fighters. Dr. Phil introduces them to real UFC fighters and Dana White to see if this really is a viable avenue to the big leagues.

Cowboy fails to take Jamie Varner’s WEC Lightweight Title

Jamie “C-4” Varner (16-2) was able to retain his WEC Lightweight Title tonight in San Diego by out pointing Donald Cerrone (9-1) and handing “Cowboy” his very first professional loss.

The title fight, scheduled for five rounds went to the judges’ cards prior to the final bell due to an illegal knee from Cerrone that caught Varner on the temple with a minute and fifty seconds left in round five. Varner was given adequate time to recover after the incident but was unable to continue and told the doctor he could not see. If a fighter wants the fight to continue he cannot tell the doctor he is unable to see.

Prosecutor recommends 10 year* prison sentence in Enson Inoue marijuana trial

Enson Inoue has been out on bail since November 14th after spending nearly a month in Japanese prison for marijuana possession.

After his release, Inoue spoke of being a changed man and felt that it gave him a new perspective on life. For Inoue, the original twenty-six days in prison could be a cake walk compared to what he may be facing.

The 41-year-old PRIDE and Shooto veteran’s marijuana possession trial began on December 17th. During questioning, Inoue testified he has been using marijuana two or three times a week for about two or three years.
