According to Chael P Sonnen we will see a ‘diminished’ Jon Jones in his rematch against Alexander Gustafsson later this year. He also makes it clear that Daniel Cormier should not drop down to fight Jon again for a third time at the 205 pound limit. Daniel is almost 40 and cutting weight doesn’t get easier with age so the heavyweight champ should stay at heavyweight. Just listen to everything Sonnen says and tell us he doesn’t make sense.
Who in the world would pick on Ben Askren? We will admit that we think Ben was unfairly judged by Dana White and that it was easy for everyone in the UFC who wanted to trash talk, call him out because there was zero chance there would be a real chance to take him on. Now that he’s finally in the UFC the callouts haven’t been as plentiful. It’s put up or shut up time. Here’s why Chael P Sonnen thinks Ben is calling the world out for his first UFC bout. Check it out.
Conor McGregor just lost the biggest fight of his career and Cowboy Cerrone just set the records for wins (21) and finishes (15) in the UFC at Fight Night 139. With his crushing defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov still leaving a bad taste in the Irishman’s mouth, McGregor needs a big name opponent to get his mojo back and record breaking Cerrone just might fit the bill. Chael Sonnen thinks that the fight is indeed being kicked around and can you blame him? Check out what Sonnen said…
Oh, Chael. Sometimes you are too trusting. First we all thought Floyd Mayweather Jr was fighting in RIZIN until he got amnesia today about the type of bout it was, and the audience, and the rules, and and and. He was convincing though, he really was. He was so convincing that Chael P Sonnen himself thought it was going to happen. In the video posted 14 hours before we reported that Mayweather was out of the RIZIN bout, Sonnen was certain it was going to happen. Watch this and you may be convinced it still might.
If there’s ever a guy in the history of the world that looks like an MMA fighter it’s Anthony Smith according to Chael P Sonnen. Smith is on a three fight win streak right now and has gone 5-1 in his last 6. He’s knocked out Rashad Evans, knocked out Shogun Rua, and submitted Volkan Oezdemir most likely putting him next in line for the winner of Jon Jones vs Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232. He got heaps of praise from “The American Gangster” and we wanted to share. Check it out.
Chael Sonnen is one of the most well-known mixed martial arts fighters of all time. In his career he’s faced some of the best middleweights in the world but who he believes is the best at that weight might surprise you. Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold rematch at UFC 230 and Sonnen has some interesting things to say about the fight and both participants. Check it out.
Bellator 208 is in the books and didn’t disappoint. The main event was intriguing but ended as I predicted with Fedor Emelianenko knocking out Chael Sonnen in the 1st. It was still an exciting bout and capped off a great night of action. Check out the highlights from the event.
Chael Sonnen’s predictions haven’t always been up to snuff. In fact they are rarely accurate if we’re being truthful. However, he was pretty close when he took Khabib Nurmagomedov to win via submission over Conor McGregor at UFC 229 even if he said the 3rd round instead of when it actually ended in the 4th. It was a dominant performance by the Russian who was only bested in the third round where he still managed to drop the Irishman. Why would anyone think that McGregor has a real chance in a potential rematch, right? Chael has your answers. Check it out…
Before Chael Sonnen faces Fedor Emelianenko tonight at Bellator 208 in the semi finals of their heavyweight Grand Prix check out the face-off from yesterday‘s weigh-in’s. Chael was his usual Sonnen self and Fedor wore his typical mask of disinterest. The intensity was there in their eyes make no mistake. The event goes down tonight on Paramount TV.
Former UFC stand out now Bellator light heavyweight champion Ryan Bader dominated Matt Mitrione last night at Bellator 207 on his way to a lopsided unanimous decision victory. He moves on to the finals of the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix where he will take on the winner of tonight‘s Bellator 208 Chael Sonnen versus Fedor Emelianenko bout. If Bader wins that fight he will become the heavyweight champ in addition to his current status as light heavyweight champion. He’s open to facing another champ-champ – UFC light heavy and heavyweight king Daniel Cormier. Check out what he said at the Bellator 207 post fight press conference.
