The British Fighting Championship is formed

Multiple small UK based MMA promotions have come together to create the British Fighting Championship. The smaller promotions include Cage Warriors, AMMA, FX3, Ultimate Force, and the Ultimate Warrior Challenge. They will unify all of their respective championship titles and plan to hold twelve events per year. They will have seven men’s weight classes as well as two for women.

The BFC will try to make MMA more profitable for the fighters as well as making MMA more of a high profile sport in the United Kingdom. With fighter’s purses as high as 250,000 pounds ($368,625 US) and live events available on live internet web stream and British Cable Television, they should have success at becoming more popular in the UK and around the world.

Quinton Jackson finds a home

by:  Jack Bratcher

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has joined fellow fighters Michael Bisping and Paul Kelly at the Wolfslair fight team according to Fighters Only. Gym owners, Anthony McGann and Lee Gwynne confirmed he has signed a three-year deal with the British team.

McGann aknowledges that Jackson’s former coach, Juanito Ibarra did resign but that they parted on good terms.

It seems Jackson and Bisping have formed a close relationship so that combined with the fact they are called “Wolfslair,” made it an easy choice for the Memphis native known for his wolf-like howls.  He even spoke of it being “destiny.”

It seems when Jackson fights in the U.S. his camp will be split between Big Bear, where they will bring the Wolfslair to him, and England, which is the homebase of the team.  And when he fights in England, his full camp will be there.  His day-to-day training will continue at the Huntington Beach Ultimate Training Center.
