Rolles Gracie signs multi-fight deal with UFC, to make Octagon debut at UFC 109

Art of War and IFL veteran Rolles Gracie has signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC according to a post he made on his Twitter account Tuesday. Rolles’ father, Rolls Gracie, was raised by his uncle Helio Gracie, who is the co-founder of Gracie Jiu Jitsu. Mixed Martial Arts is literally in Rolles Gracie’s blood.

Rolles is 3-0 as a professional MMA fighter. Not surprising, all three of his wins have come in the first round by submission. His most recent fight was on Sept. 26 at Art of War 14 where he tapped out Peter Graham with an arm-triangle just 1:43 into the bout.

“Big” John McCarthy may not be welcome in Nevada, but he made the trip to China to serve as referee for “Art of War 14: Ground Zero,” which took place at the Cotai Arena in Macao on Sept. 26, 2009.

As the fight went into the second round Wang was picked apart with strikes. With his corner yelling to take the fight to the ground, Wang chose to remain standing, taking the fight the distance, and thereby ending the main event in an anti-climactic draw.

Recap
When I needed a big weekend to keep the percentage above 80, I failed. I ended up going 12-5 (1NC). That brings my picking record to 79-22 (10NC) which is a picking rate of 78%. This weekend we take a look at the next Strikeforce Challengers card as well as this year’s ADCC tournament.

Strikeforce Challengers “Kennedy vs. Cummings”
Tim Kennedy (9-0) vs. Zak Cummings (10-0)

Expect Tim Kennedy to win this battle between prospects. Kennedy will have success by taking Cummings down and implementing his ground game. Cummings has been impressive in his MMA career, but Kennedy will give him his first loss.
Pick = Tim Kennedy
