Who would have thought so much aftermath would have resulted from a “little grease?” To the average person what Georges St. Pierre’s corner-man did may not seem like much but what it does is taint the victory with doubt. Shortly after the Vaseline was applied to St. Pierre and rubbed on his shoulders and back, round two started and Penn found himself on his back with St. Pierre in his guard and his legs actually slide from a high to low guard multiple times where the slippery substance was applied.
Following the incident, St. Pierre and his trainer, Greg Jackson have denied any wrong doing and have offered a rematch to ‘The Prodigy’ who lost by TKO when his corner stopped the Welterweight Title Fight after round four against St. Pierre last Saturday night. B.J. Penn has now accepted the rematch offered by St.Pierre and Jackson.
Joe Lauzon is a busy guy. Not only is he fighting Jeremy Stephens in the main event at this Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 17, but exactly one week later he will be taking on grappling phenom, Will Kerr, in a North American Grappling Association ‘Superfight’.

Dan Quinn has finally found a spokesperson for his ‘Stevia Saves the World’ campaign and who better to represent the idea of cold fusion in a blender than Diego Sanchez.
In a recent interview with Carson’s Corner, Diego talks about dropping to lightweight and getting ready for his first fight at the new weight class against Joe “Daddy” Stevenson. Joining Diego during the hour long audio interview is none other than the Sultan of Stevia himself, Dan Quinn. The two spend the hour answering questions from Bob Carson about everything from how Stevia cured a lump in Ali Sonoma’s breast to Dan Quinn wanting to chop someone’s penis in half.
It’s the most entertaining MMA-related interview in a long time and well worth the listen. Diego said he saw how passionate Dan was about Stevia and being the open-minded person he is, thought he would give it a try since he’s tried every other supplement under the sun. According to Diego, Stevia has given him a new level of energy and really made a difference in his move to lightweight. He is now a full on supporter of the herbal sweetener.
It is being reported that the Japanese Judo gold medalist and star, Satoshi Ishii, has put his UFC negotiations on hold in order to entertain offers from other USA based MMA promotions, including Affliction.
As many may remember, Ishii was a special guest of UFC president Dana White at UFC 92 and was also seen in Dana’s video blog behind the scenes at UFC 94. Ishii also appeared at Sengoku 7 wearing a UFC shirt. After reportedly turning down as much as a $6 million dollar contract to fight in Japan, it was thought that the UFC contract was a done deal.
“And the most important news, Ishii is putting contract negotiations with the UFC on hold for now. As a professional he wants to hear the talk of various organizations. He especially mentioned Affliction and mentioned both Fedor and Sylvia. However, he said that right now the UFC is still the first candidate.”
