Kimbo Slice answered questions from the media Saturday night about his unanimous decision victory over Houston Alexander at The Ultimate Fighter season 10 Finale at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. Kimbo spent much of the fight chasing after Alexander has he lapped circles around the former street fighter. Kimbo admits Alexander’s tactics were unexpected, but he did not let it take him out of his game plan.
Kimbo talks about taking those leg kicks and much more after the jump…
Who would have ever guessed coming into the match up between Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson and Houston Alexander, that the fight would last more than a minute, let alone go the full three rounds? Not only did the bout go the distance, but it took nearly three minutes before the fighters even engaged, with Houston Alexander doing Nascar-esque laps circling around the Octagon as “Kimbo” gave chase.
Finally, Alexander decided to initiate his game plan of picking “Kimbo” apart with kicks, zeroing in on his opponent’s arthritic knee. The action, or lack there of, initiated a smattering of boos from the audience, which expected fireworks from the usually aggressive fighters from the opening bell.
The second stanza lived up to the hype and more, with the ATT trained “Kimbo” showing off his newly honed clinch and ground game, introducing the world to the “Kimbo-plex”. The suplex set the tempo for the rest of the round as “Kimbo” dominated Alexander on the ground. “Kimbo” maintained top position and unleashed a furious ground and pound game on Alexander, clearly winning him Round 2 easily.
ProMMA.info participated in today’s The Ultimate Fighter season 10: Heavyweights Finale conference call featuring finalists Roy Nelson and Brendan Schaub, along with Kimbo Slice and Houston Alexander, who will also be fighting on the card.
Whether it be from the weight cut or something else, Kimbo seemed a bit agitated with the many of the questions and did not seem to want to be on the call, especially at first. Comparatively, the other fighters seemed in good spirits.
One of the call’s highlights was when Kimbo was asked if there was any fighter he could model himself after, who would it be. Kimbo said, “I’m a grown man. I can’t say nothing like that. All the fighters who are good.” It was a funny moment that had his opponent laughing. You can hear this and all of the fighters’ comments on the audio below. Also, there are some notable quotes after the jump.

Internet sensation fuels speculation on his UFC fate
Las Vegas, NV (USA) – The much-anticipated two-hour finale of Season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter® airs tonight at 9pm ET on Spike and the world will learn which two fighters will compete for the six-figure UFC contract at The Pearl at The Palms Casino Resort this Saturday night. Of equal importance, millions will tune in to learn the fate of Internet legend and knockout artist Kimbo Slice.
The subject of much debate since joining The Ultimate Fighter® in September, Slice has attracted audiences far and wide, all eager to learn more about the bearded 35-year-old. Most are asking the same question of tonight’s broadcast: will Slice get another opportunity to fight on the show?
New York, NY, November 23, 2009 – Kimbo Slice, the wildly popular mixed martial arts heavyweight and member of the cast of “The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights,” will fight for the first time in the UFC live on Spike TV Saturday, December 5 at 9:00pm. Slice will appear in a bout on “The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights” finale fight card emanating from The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV.
Slice’s opponent will be announced at a later date, pending on what transpires on the special two-hour “The Ultimate Fighter” episode on Wednesday, December 2 (9:00-11:00pm ET/PT). Despite suffering a loss in episode 3 to Roy Nelson, Slice has the opportunity to return to fight on the show if a cast mate is injured and compete for the coveted title of “The Ultimate Fighter.”
Realistically, how big could a fight between “The Iceman” Chuck Liddell and Kimbo Slice be? Let’s face it; neither fighter is going to hold a title in the UFC. Chuck’s been there and done that. And Kimbo never will. But as far as pure entertainment goes, I can’t think of a much more exciting fight than Chuck Liddell vs. Kimbo Slice.
Liddell, on Sherdog Radio Monday, talked about the possibility. “Why would anyone even want to see me fight Kimbo?” asked Liddell. “I have no interest in that fight. Whatever. It is what it is. I guess I’d do it, if that’s who I had to fight to come back.”
“The Iceman” said he needed some time off from fighting, and Dancing with the Stars not only gave him something productive to focus on, it helped him stay in shape. Now that he is back in the gym he wants to see how things go, see how he feels, and make the decision whether to step back in the Octagon or not.

Kimbo Slice takes his beard very serious. On episode two of Inside the Ultimate Fighter, host Mike Chiappetta talks TUF 10 with UFC President Dana White. Chiappetta asks White how much money he thinks it would take for Kimbo to shave his beard. White says he does not think Kimbo would do it, then proceeds to explain why.
One of the stipulations for him to compete on The Ultimate Fighter was that no harm could come to the trademark beard. In past seasons of The Ultimate Fighter it has been very common for the house-mates to play pranks on one another. White stated that Kimbo’s management made it very clear, if anyone tried to shave his beard or do something to it while he was asleep there was going to be big problems.
