MMA PPV buys have always been a crap shoot in terms of predicting the final numbers. 2013 sure had its share of ups and downs, too. This year proved that being a champion still doesn’t equal big numbers like in the case of UFC 163 Aldo vs. Jung. That PPV did an abysmal 170,000 buys. UFC 165 Jones. Gustafsson, did 270,000 buys and Jones is one of the UFC’s most high profile athletes.
Yesterday we posted the video that WWE released promoting the 2014 Royal Rumble. Shortly after they released an even longer video featuring Santino Marella, Albert (Tensai), Alberto Del Rio, and more.
There is now talk of Erick Rowan and Luke Harper of The Wyatt Family entering the 2014 Royal Rumble pay-per-view as the WWE Tag Team Champions. At one point they were pegged to enter WrestleMania XXX as champions but that may have been pushed up recently according to PWInsider.com
The WWE released a pretty funny promotional spot for The Royal Rumble pay per view in 2014. It is a parody of the speed dating commercials and services of sites like eHarmony. Featured in the video are stars like Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes, Kane, and CM Punk.
