Current UFC women’s featherweight champion and former women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes lost her bantamweight belt to Julianna Pena to the shock of many fans. Pena submitted Nunes in December of 2021 and questions about a rematch were left unanswered for a few weeks until it was announced that the two would be opposing coaches on an upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter reality series.

Nunes says that her daughter and her attitude were big parts of what kept her positive after losing the belt and got her through to the show announcement to now. Here’s what she said to TMZ:
