The mixed martial arts gods intervened and UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman now has a new opponent for UFC 251 on Saturday.

Hint: He’s a BMF.

BMF title holder Jorge Masvidal stepped in on short notice to replace Gilbert Burns after Gilbert tested positive for COVID-19. The surreal replacement is even sweeter for Jorge because it is the first main event to be held on the now legendary Fight Island. The Masvidal versus Kamaru bout was the logical choice for the champion’s next fight but money was apparently the stopping point for Jorge.

Once they set up the fight with Burns it seemed like we would never get BMF versus welterweight champion. Well we did and it’s all because of Jorge‘s last fight with Nate Diaz for the BMF title. Before Saturday check this out and get hype.
