ESPN MMA shared a bit of news that is honestly surprising and a tad disappointing.

Former welterweight champ Tyron Woodley was expected to fight nemesis Colby Covington a few times and they all fell through. He was supposed to face Leon Edwards and that too didn’t come to pass. Most fans including myself assumed that one of those opponents would surely end up being Woodley‘s next fight. We were wrong.

The name that’s being passed around now is not one a lot of casual fans would recognize despite 14 fights in The Octagon. Gilbert Burns is a solid 11-3 under the UFC banner.
This possible fight probably seems to have come out of an automated bout pairing machine. After taking a look at Gilbert‘s latest run though it will begin to make more sense. He is 5-0 and his last bout was a first round TKO win over Demian Maia. So yeah. Those credentials check out.

Here is what ESPN shared and we are interested to know what you think of this potential bout.
