UFC President Dana White confirmed what we all hoped would be the case. Former UFC featherweight and lightweight double champ Conor McGregor won’t wait for the winner of UFC 249’s Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov lightweight title bout.

After the Irishman returned at UFC 246 in January and knocked out legend Cowboy Cerrone in just 0:40 fans were asking who was next. We heard names like Diego Sanchez, Justin Gaethje, and Nate Diaz thrown around but no one had a definitive answer. Plus, Khabib recently stated that Conor would not get the next title shot meaning if Dana wanted that bout to happen there could be three outcomes. Khabib would fight Conor, Khabib is stripped of the title, or McGregor fights someone like Gaethje for an interim belt. No one really wins with any of those obviously.

So what is next? Dana spoke with TMZ about it and surprised us.

I don’t know if Conor wants to wait for him (Khabib). We’ll see what happens. Conor might not wait….Conor McGregor has fought anyone we have asked him to fight and who has been available….I mean guys have pulled out on Conor two or three times. Conor literally went to the gym and said ‘tell me who I am fighting’.

It makes no sense for McGregor to wait because he can probably fight a guy like CM Punk and still do huge PPV numbers. Fighters lining up and dreaming of a red panty night.

Who do you think the Irishman will fight next? Who do you want him to?
