MMA fans and football prediction folks has seen witnessed lot of changes from 2018 to 2019 in the UFC. Robert Whittaker lost his middleweight title to Israel Adesanya. Max Holloway followed suit when he lost his title after three title defenses to Alexander Volkanovski. Also, we have seen Herny Cejudo became a two-division champions and Weili Zhang shocked the world to become the women’s strawweight champion.

Today, however, courtesy of Tyler P. Williams of arsenal blogs, we takes an in-depth look at possible title challengers for the year 2020:

Chan Sung Jung

First one on our list is Chan Sung Jung aka “The Korean Zombie” who has been extremely impressive so far since returning from his mandatory military service in South Korea. Since returning to the ring, Jung has knocked out Dennis Bermudez. However, he has tasted defeat when he lost via last-second knock out in a fight that he was dominating against Yair Rodriguez. Following this bout, Jung finds his winning momentum when he racked up back to back knockout wins in 2019 over Renato Moicano and Frankie Edger. As noted by gooner news, Max Holloway is more than deserving of a rematch with Alexander Volkanovski, so it may not be right away but Jung certainly deserves a title shot by the end of 2020.

Tatiana Suarez

The just concluded year has seen the women’s flyweight title changed hands twice. With Jessica Andrade defeating Rose Namajunas in May. Then shortly after Weili Zhang won the title from Andrade in Augst. Zhang, however, is currently booked to fight Joanna Jedrzejczyk in March at UFC 248. Although, we all know the next fighter in line should be Tatiana Suarez who is 8-0 and 5-0 inside the UFC cage. Suarez has finished three out of her five UFC bout wins impressively. She is also ranked third in the women’s flyweight in the world. She only sits behind titleholders Namajunas and Andrade.

Alexandre Pantoja

As we all know, Cejudo has vacated his flyweight title. This has left UFC with no choice than to book Joseph Benavidez vs. Deiveson Figueiredo for the vacant title. Alexandre Pantoja, however, is currently 6-2 in the UFC ranking. He has beat the likes of Brandon Moreno, Wilson Reis and Matt Schnell in that timeframe. Pantoja last two losses are to Dustin Ortiz, who hasn’t fought since January 2019, and Deiveson Figueiredo, who will be fighting for the vacant title.

Being an impressive fighter in the ring so far, there are only three men ranked ahead of him in the flyweight rankings. Those men are Benavidez, Figueiredo, and Jussier Formiga. With the UFC booking Figueiredo and Benavidez for the vacant title, it is likely that they also book Pantoja and Formiga for the number one contender slot. Should Pantoja get past Formiga he should be next in line for the title shot.

That being said, who do you reckon has the better chances of – owing to their performance so far that could fight titles this New Year and decade? Once you decide, head on to Forecastr for best odds on soccer prediction.
