Before Matt “The Cat” DiMarcantonio (9-7) returns to action against fellow CES vet Jacob Bohn at BTC 2 on September 9 in Oakville, Ont., the Welland, Ont. fighter checked in with ProMMANow.

How has this camp gone for you?

I’ve made some changes and I love how everything is going. I’m in the best shape of my life right now and my skills have improved so much over the past year.

What can fans expect out of you in this bout?

You’re going to see a very hungry, vicious fighter. I don’t see this fight going the distance. You’ll see a nice finish. Whether it’s on the feet or on the ground, it doesn’t matter to me (laughs).

How important is it for you to put on a good show?

It’s very important; I’ve got a lot of people coming to watch me. My family, friends and students are going to be there, and I want to make a lot of new fans too. It’s very important for me to put on an exciting fight.

Fighting at home in Ontario, does that add any more pressure to your situation?

No, it doesn’t add any pressure. I’ve been fighting for a long time and have fought in front of my friends and family before too. It’s just another fight.

What would you like to accomplish by the beginning of 2018?

I would like to get two more fights in, both wins, and have a winning streak going into 2018, and see what happens then. I’m definitely looking for big fights.
