Before top bantamweight prospect Kyler Phillips (3-0) guns for his fourth straight finish as a professional for LFA this weekend, LIVE on AXS TV Fights, the Blue Chip MMA Lab prospect sat down with ProMMANow.
What is your favorite way to win a fight?
I’ll take a finish any way I can get it. As a true martial artist, if you’re attacked the street, either you finish them or they finish you, so I’m never looking to go to the judges. My favorite way? I don’t know, man. I love to submit people, and I love to knock them out too (laughs).
What’s your go-to walkout music?
I usually go for hip hop. For my last fight, my friend — MC Dome — who’s a rapper, walked me out. I would definitely like to do that again.
Are you watching anything good on Netflix?
I just watched “Mortal Kombat.”
What’s the last good book you read?
(Laughs) Actually, I was just at Barnes and Noble reading “Mortal Kombat” because I watched the movie last night.
What’s your favorite post-victory meal?
Oh, Korean barbeque. That’s my favorite (laughs).
Where would you like to be five years from today?
I’ll be 26 or 27, and I will be the UFC champion.
